NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK Famously known as “The World’s only wildlife Capital”, it is the only national park located within a capital city in the world. It is just 7km from the Nairobi CBD. With over 100 mammal species found within Nairobi national park including 4 of the Big five members, giraffes, zebras, various species of antelopes, and numerous reptiles. The park is also a haven to the bird watchers with over 500 species of birds found there.
Other pleasant areas within the park include the Safari Walk, The animal orphanage, the ivory burning site monument, spacious picnic site to name but a few.

GIRAFFE CENTRE (Adult $15, 3-12yrs $8, under 3yrs free)
Fancy feeding a giraffe! Then this is just for you, located app. 20 kilometres from the city centre, is an establishment founded in order to protect the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe.

The centre provides environmental education and promotes conservation efforts of the endangered species in Kenya. The highlight of your tour will be been up close with these absolutely beautiful creatures and even getting a lifetime opportunity to feed them, you can even get a kiss from one of them if it is your lucky day! DAPHNE SHELDRICKD ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE

This is a safe haven for rescued baby elephants and rhinos whose mothers have died in the cruel hands of poachers. It is located 17 kilometres from the city centre.
Enjoy watching these not so little baby elephants gulp down their milk from their care givers and watch them take their bathes as they wallow in the mud puddles!
And yes, you get a chance to adopt one of these tinny beings and name them a name you fancy, isn’t that cool!
KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM
This fantastic space not only provides a place for personal reflection in the nature trail with a back drop of the breathtaking Ngong Hills, but also gives a detailed insight into the person, Karen Blixen.

It is worth noting that the world acclaimed movie “Out of Africa”, an Oscar winning film was based on Karen’s autobiography.
BOMAS OF KENYA
A tourist village located approximately 10 kilometres from the CBD. “Boma”, meaning an enclosed homestead gives you a good chance to experience the architecture of the Kenyan traditional homesteads.
In addition you may test your dancing skills by joining the dancers for a dance in the auditorium and also savour the Kenyan traditional cuisines.
THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF KENYA
Located just outside the city centre, Kenya’s National Museum is housed in a building amid lush and leafy grounds. Aside from the various cultural and natural history exhibits, there is a life-size of pachyderm celebrity “Ahmed” an elephant that became a symbol of poaching crisis in the 1980’s.

There is also an exhibit of the Birds of East Africa, great hall of mammals, cradle of humanity exhibition with Hominid Skull Room been the highlight.
If you are in for an adrenaline rush, consider visiting the Snake Park within the museum too!
THE AFRICAN HERITAGE HOUSE
This architectural master piece contains invaluable private collection of African paintings, sculpture and precious artefacts.

One can also breakfast, lunch and dinners on the rooftop or by the refreshing pool as you enjoy the excellent views of Nairobi National Park. Entry fee:
KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE (KICC) ROOFTOP
This is an iconic building in Nairobi city where its rooftop helipad gives one the unique opportunity to see the panoramic views of the whole city from an aerial view.
KIAMBETHU TEA FARM
This is a place of tranquility not far from the city. On the lush gardens and over a cup of freshly made tea one is provided with a serene intuition into life on tea farm.

The tea making process is explained on a layman’s language followed by an opportunity to see the tea plantation and may be try your hand in tea picking. It’s good to note that Kenyan tea is renowned around the world!
FAIRVIEW COFFEE FARM
For any coffee lovers, this will be a great day out at a coffee farm. With breathtaking landscapes, this nearly 100 acres farm gives you a unique opportunity to understand how coffee is grown, learning about the production process and the highlight is getting an opportunity of tasting a couple of Fairview’s renowned brands.
