Day 01: Nairobi – Arrival and Transfer to Hotel/ Residence of Choice for Overnight

Upon arrival and clearance by the immigration officers at the JKIA, you will be met by our tour representative, who will gladly welcome you and give you a tour briefing of your safari. Nairobi otherwise known as the “Green city in the sun” lives up to its name. Expect some warm weather and warm natured people too.

You will be transferred to Hotel/ Residence of choice where you will be checked in. Lunch will be own arrangement.

Afternoon will be spent at leisure as you ease off the jet lag.

Day 02: Nairobi – Buffalo Springs National Reserve

On this day after a delicious breakfast, your driver guide will pick you from your hotel and drive you to the Northern region of Kenya. Prepare yourselves for timeless picturesque hilly and endless plains sceneries.

You may have a glimpse of the majestic Mt. Kenya en-route, a river or two, typical Kenyan villages, some green regions but as you head further North you get deeper into semi-arid areas with rugged terrains and golden short grass lands.

You will stopover for lunch at Nanyuki town (Own Cost), an old Kenyan town at the foothills of Mt. Kenya buzz with activities. The Northern region of Kenya has a diverse array of ecosystems which will be notable as you get to Buffalo Springs National Reserve, which is part of the wider Samburu ecosystem. You will have an en-route game drive as you head to your lodge and upon arrival you will be checked into (Lodge of choice).  

Evening will be at leisure. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Day 03: Full Day at Buffalo Springs National Reserve

Ewaso Nyiro River is the lifeline of The Samburu, and its banks are the main drinking point of wildlife in the reserve this gives a vantage point to enjoy unforgettable moments of viewing the reserve residents enjoying their morning sip at the river or better still, taking their morning bathes at the river from the comfort of the lodge’s rooms.

Your stay at Buffalo Springs National Reserve will see you take a game drive to the wild side of the reserve with a qualified guide leading you through the Reserve, learning about the flora and fauna and abundant birdlife. You will enjoy your packed drinks and snacks in the untamed savannah. You will enjoy visiting the “Buffalo Springs”, an oasis of clear water in the Western end of the reserve, you may actually enjoy a swim at the oasis!

The beautiful landscape of the semi-desert terrain of the Buffalo Springs National Reserve made up of doum palms, riverine forests, and grasslands. Gently lowlands, plains of old lava flow and volcanic soils is home to arguably the most beautiful yet endangered species of animals known as “The Special five”, namely The Grevy’s Zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuks, beisa oryx and the Masai ostrich. Other residents include, elusive eland, greater and lesser kudu and predators like lion, leopard and cheetah. Elephants roam in both Buffalo Springs and Samburu and stopping for a sundowner cocktail in either location is the perfect way to end your Buffalo Springs Safari. In the evening you will enjoy dinner and sundowner at the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river at the Lodge.

Day 05: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve

You will have an early morning game drive at the Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a RAMSAR Site with abundance of wildlife and species of exotic birds including the lake been a migratory lake for millions of the lesser flamingos. It is inhibited by the euphorbia forests, acacia woodlands, savannah grasslands, and rocky escarpments giving a picturesque backdrop. Keep your eyes peeled for the incredible wildlife that inhabits this National Park, including black and white rhinoslionsleopardscheetahs, and hippos.

You will later return back to lodge for breakfast, freshening up and checking out.

After a sumptuous breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up for the ultimate Safari destination, The Masai Mara National Reserve.

Masai Mara National reserve is a vast golden savannah, famous for the annual great migration of the wildebeests, it is also home and not limited to all members of “The Big Five” -Lion, Leopard, elephant, hippo and rhino. It has over 500 species of birds making it a haven for birds’ enthusiasts. You will be checked in to the Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon will at leisure. We will have an evening game drive. You may see the elusive big cats including cheetahs, lions and you may be lucky to spot a leopard. The bird watchers will also have an opportunity to see and name the various birds. You’ll will enjoy the memorable African sunset of the Mara as you head back to the lodge for your delicious dinner and overnight.

Day 06: Full Day at Masai Mara National Reserve.

You will have an option of doing a balloon safari at own cost, an exclusive, memorable experience of enjoying seeing this vast golden savannah from an aerial view and enjoying a champagne bush breakfast after the balloon lands.

You will be picked by the driver guide from the breakfast site for a full day Safari. You will drive across the plains in search of the big five and other wild animals. Masai Mara is also home to the beautiful Topi antelope and expect to see herds of them, the gazelles, zebras and the impalas etc. Maasai Mara is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Its animals include but not limited to lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos.

The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. The area nearby is dotted with villages (enkangs) of Maasai people.

You can choose an option of visiting a Maasai cultural village at own cost and get to learn their bead making art, their beautiful dances and may be have a chance to learn how to light a fire using special sticks! You will go back to the lodge to freshen up in preparation for dinner. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 07: Masai Mara National Reserve to Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island

Having enjoyed the untamed wilderness of the Masai Mara Ecosystem, the magnificent sunrises and the golden sunsets, on this day you will be picked from your lodge and you will be driven to Naivasha for the next phase of your adventure.

The afternoon will see you enjoy a boat ride at Lake Naivasha and an epic visit to the Crescent Island. It is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and is often called Naivasha’s best-kept secret. This is every lover of nature’s paradise Perfect for Wildlife Watching, Bird Enthusiasts, and all fans of the wilderness.

Fancy a boat ride! Navigate through the L. Naivasha water with an up-close encounter with hippos in their natural environment.

Day 08: Lake Naivasha to Tsavo West National Park

Embark on a picturesque journey from Naivasha to Tsavo West National Park. Traveling through the different habitations and changes in flora, keep your eyes peeled for sightings of diverse wildlife along the way, from graceful gazelles, grants, tommie’s, giraffes etc. The journey itself is an adventure, offering glimpses of the untamed beauty of the African wilderness.

Arrive to the views of the endless plains and the hilly horizon of Tsavo West. You will explore the rugged beauty that is Tsavo West. You will go through diverse landscapes, from rolling hills and lush forests to rugged terrain and vast plains.

Day 09: Full Day at Tsavo West National Park

Explore the rugged beauty of the Tsavo. You may spot the beautiful residents of the Tsavo including the mighty elephants, giraffes, Buffaloes, wildebeests, the highly endangered white and black rhinos. The cats include lions, jackals, African wild dogs’ cheetahs and you may spot the elusive leopard. You will visit the Mzima Springs – an oasis where crystal-clear water flows from underground lava caves and you will observe hippos, crocodiles and various species of fish from an underground viewing chamber. You may explore the vast lava fields known as” The Shetani Lava”. The birders will also have a field day as Tsavo West has a prolific bird life with over 600 bird species.

Day 10 to Day 13: Tsavo West National Park to The Coast

After enjoying the days in the untamed wilderness. You will have your breakfast and say Kwaheri to this beautiful park. Carrying with you the memories of this rugged beauty and wildlife encounters, you will be driven down to the Coast.

The smell of the ocean is not only calming but refreshing and tranquil.

Days at the Coast may give you an opportunity to laze around the resort as you enjoy the different activities like camel riding, swimming in the ocean, constructing sand castles or just sunbathing.

Alternatively, you may opt to:

  1. Visit Fort Jesus- A UNESCO world heritage site with thick cord walls, dungeons, and cannons while imaging the battles that once raged here.
  2. Old Town- Wander through the narrow valleys where Swahili architecture and vibrant markets await.
  3. Mombasa Old Port- Once a bustling hub for traders from Arabia, India and Europe.
  4. Mandhry Mosque- An elegant structure with a blend of Islamic and Indian architectural styles offering panoramic views of the City and shimmering Indian Ocean.
  5. Tusks Entrance- A Mombasa welcome to visitors and a testament to the City’s multinational heritage. Beaches and Sunset at Mama Ngina Drive- Take a detour to the beach, dip into the warm waters, watch the dhows sail by and enjoy the Coastal breeze. Watch the sun dip below the horizon, casting hues of orange and pink across the water.
  6. Go dolphin hunting as you visit Kisite Mpunguti and Wasini Islands.
  7. Visit the Bora Bora Wildlife Sanctuary and besides the absolutely amazing experience of feeding giraffes, ostriches and zebras, you will learn of importance of wildlife conservation.
  8. Visit Colobus Conservation – These are unique, beautiful yet highly endangered monkeys.

Day 14: Depart
